For those interested in showing solidarity to the Occupy movement in Virginia Beach, they are having their first event (meeting/rally/march) at Town Center Plaza (by the fountain) beginning at 10:30a.m. They plan to come to our 1pm March at the conclusion of their event.
The eviction of Occupy Wall Street has been postponed! 1000s of protesters arrived throughout the night and major unions came out before 7am this morning out of solidarity!
If you have something that you feel needs to be brought before General Assembly – please be advised that the daily cut off for agenda items is 3pm. These items need to be submitted to Rex Bonney or Tim (on-site, camp facilitator). Please either see them in person or contact them through the OccuPhone 757-298-6787
A word about working groups. I have added everyone that as of last night had reached about working groups.
If you are in a group – review the list which is in the DOCS section of this group page, right now. Find your group and get in touch with the other people in the group.
If you are NOT in a group – review the list, select a group and get in touch with me. I will help you get in… touch with whoever you need to.
VERY IMPORTANT: as soon as possible (today), I need to hear from each working group. I need each of you to designate a representative who will be available for the admin meetings which are held daily at 11:00am (either in person or on the internet if necessary). I also need a schedule – what day/time (at least once a week) will your group meet at the site? I need to post this information on this page, the website and at the camp as soon as possible.
Working groups are essential to getting things going for OccupyNorfolk. Please get in touch with me ASAP.
